5 Years!

Last week we celebrated our 5-year anniversary.  It's been a great five years.  Here's a little trip down memory lane.
In 2006 you'd find us engaged and married in 4 1/2 months!  Crazy!

October 13th, 2006
2007 found us packing up and moving to Idaho.
2008 found us packing up and moving back to Utah!!!
We did get a chance to do some camping while in Idaho.  Don't forget the time Jared decided to cross the river on a log.
With disastrous results!

In 2008 we went cross-country skiing at Sundance...

 Also with disastrous results!

We took a quick trip to Vegas and saw Phantom!

In 2009 Jared surprised me with a trip to Disneyland for my birthday! We also went to the beach and to Duke's for dinner which was awesome!
In 2010 we purchased our house...

Then packed up our bikes...
...and headed to Yellowstone.
2011 finds us with a pet kitty (something we swore we'd never have, but now we love!)
...and happily married!  Where will next year take us?

Lindsay's Family

This is where you'll find my family pretty much any Sunday or holiday evening when it's warm outside.
This is where you'll find my family pretty much any Sunday or holiday evening when it's cold outside!
Super cute picture of some of the grandkids.

My parents live next door, so my dad often comes over and mows our lawn.  He's always real helpful like that!  Him and Jared occasionally like to have lawn mower races.  My brother has a lawn care company and parks his equipment out in our garden so there's all sorts of cool lawn mowers back there.
We took a super fun family trip a couple of summers ago to Bear Lake.  We're missing a few family members in this pic, but it's rare to get one with everyone!
Pumpkin carving for Halloween.
My mom and the newest grandchild, Benjamin.

I picture shopped on all of my siblings' facebook profiles to find some cute family pics.  This is my sister, Jaime and her family.  She's the oldest, I'm second.

This is my younger brother Andy with his hopefully-soon-to-be-wife, Jessica.

The two youngest siblings are twins.  This is Matt with his cute family.
And Marc with his daughter, Zara.

Jared's Family

We love to spend time with family.  We were in Idaho a few months ago for the annual reunion.  Jared has nine siblings, so it's always quite an event.  There was a baby blessing for yet another baby, so we got a picture while most of the family was there and dressed up.  What a cute family!
A few months before that, we were in Idaho for a baptism.  It was one of the first warm weekends of the summer so it was very fun to be outside for a bbq.  Here are three of Jared's four brothers.
Cute Grandma Carol and Sis-in-law Ari.
Poor Ellie got doused with the hose by one of the many boy cousins.
Me and Jared's mom and one of the cute little nieces that Jared's always threatening to take home with us.

Sister Cassie and her new hubbie Keith.

We love this cute picture of Jared's dad being the cutest grandpa ever.

After the baptism we stayed at Jared's parents for the night and they had two brand new baby goats.  They were soooo cute!
Jared's brother Devon was the cutest little goat farmer!
Lots of fun!

Mad Gardening Skills

I have had so much fun in my garden this year.  I guess I got a little bit of a green thumb from my dad who loves to garden.  (Jared insisted I posed for an action shot!)  Here are my tomatoes at the beginning of the season.
Here they are mid-season.  My dad might have helped a little in stringing them up.  He's got the system down.  I ended up with a lot of tomatoes.
I even got ambitious and canned some salsa.  By the end, I decided that would be the one and only time I canned salsa!  However, a friend of mine told me about a salsa mix you can buy and you only have to add fresh tomatoes.  So I tried that one too and it was good!  I even taught my young women how to make it!  This is me and my friend Stephanie making salsa the hard way the first time.

While I was in the canning mood, I also did a whole bunch of beans. Some were from my little garden, but I'll be honest, most were from my dad's. You should note that most of this happened BEFORE school started!  Now that school is back in, I don't seem to have much time for anything and my garden is suffering!

Here's the embarrassing part.  You know how EVERYONE can grow zucchini?  My zucchini didn't grow!!!  I guess I planted it too deep so it took forever to sprout and is now just coming on.  Luckily for me the zucchini fairy left a whole bunch on my front porch!

In fact, it was so readily available, I was looking for creative ways to use it.  Our favorite so far?  Zucchini pizza!  It's seriously good!

I really love working outside in the garden and in the yard.  The produce is nice too!
